Prism SLOOOOOOW Hotsync USB

Ok I can't figure out what the problem is. I got a new laptop at work, Dell latitude pretty new, 850 mhz built in everything. Very nice. It was someone else's but before I blew it out I used it for a week and had no problems hotsyncing. Now that I formatted and reinstalled w98se hotsync's are taking forever. About an hour to complete. I even reformatted again and the same thing. I have reset my Prism but not dumped it completly. No errors in the computers device manager, nothing out of the ordinary. I d/l the latest handspring desktop, etc. I don't know what to look at next. Help

Check Dells website and see if they have updated "Chipset" drivers for the USB on the laptop. if Windows '98 is using its own "Generic" USB drivers, it could be causing a slowdown or bottleneck.
