Hey Foo - so is this thread totally bogus now or should we keep going. There is so much conflicting information regarding shipment and it won't make any difference until the 500 series either shows in stores or on my door step that why not have some fun.

My Palm Vx won't sync anymore due to a non-fatal drop. I can still use it but can't sync. I'll wait for my M505 before taking it a part but I have empathy with you man.

Hope something definitive shows up soon regarding actual shipping dates but until then we should all just sit back and feel important and have fun.

Foo - Update the M500 now shows as a backorder item on the Palm Web page store and the M505 still shows a preorder status. This, to my knowledge, just changed today so maybe the 500 is shipping as promised by the end of April. No help though on the M505

Guess that's one way to look at things.

You know...there are reports that the Clie 700 is to be release on May 1. If the reports about the Clie 700 is true, it's in every way (IMHO) better than the m505. Palm sales in the US will take a big hit

with the Clie's release.

The TRGpro/Handera will soon to be out also, they have already lowered the price of their current model. They might beat the m505's release also.Another hit

Now IF Handspring has something like a color Edge in the works, and if they introduce the unit close to or after the m505's release. Remember, we still don't know what the VisorTwist or VisorSnap is. One of them will probably be the new wireless visor that Donna Dubinsky mentioned in HS's press conference. That's another hit.

How many more hits can Palm sustain, before there'll be serious damage to it's dominance in the handheld market?

Foo,maybe this delay is a blessing in disguise.

BTW, I just recieved the newest version of Afterburner 3.0u. It the information manual, Danial Wee stated that the program is not compatible with the new Clie...yet... primarily because he (like the rest of us) doesn't have one yet. Hopefully, he can overclock the Clie once he gets one in the future. This might improve the Clie's slowness because of the increased in resolution.

You have to REMEMBER....Palm said they wanted to be like Microsoft and just make the OS, and NOT APPLE and have to make both the hardware AND the OS.

They WANT all these companies to make handhelds and for them to sell...as long as they beat out Microshaft....in the long run thats what they want.

So...as long as the number of Palm OS handhelds increase, the more they can move away from the hardware market.

Yo fat man read what I wrote.

BTW Foo it wasn't an opinion...someone had an article on it from an interview...

They said the market isn't QUITE big enough, but eventually will be to support an OS only Palm.
