Oh, god, now I've gone and done it!
Ok, I just got my MiniJam from Amazon on Tuesday. I took it out of the box. Looked great, even better up close. I put the 64MB MMC into the MiniJam and turned on the Visor.
The InnoGear file loader asked me to format the MMC (and yes, it's a proprietary format). I did, and it was taking a *very* long time. So, I thought I'd put the Visor in my cradle to be ready when it completes the format.
THAT WAS A MISTAKE! The minute I put it in the cradle, the Visor reset. Now the MMC is unreadable and the loader gives me a warning (some C library) that the MMC is unreadable and resets the Visor.
I called InnoGear and they said that only the loader program can format the MMC, so it looks like I have to send it back. Can you believe that? I didn't even get a chance to try it before I killed it! AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
I'm really really surprised there's not some more robustness built into the system to prevent this. No, I was not wearing wool slippers when I put my Visor in its cradle. There was no static discharge. Go fig...
