The ISP service has been great. The customer service...

I have a mystery charge on my credit card statement. It's for $83.77, which is far more than a month's service ought to be. I haven't yet heard back from YY whatinhell it's supposed to be, but I'll let you all know what the answer is if anyone is curious.

when did you sign up? i noticed my first charge was for about $60, i was confused till i remembered that i had signed up in the middle of the month so they charged for a half month and then the upcoming month. so i signed up nov 15, and i was billed on Dec 1st for 11/15-11/30 and then billed for the month of december. That amount seems odd, but if you signed up say near the end of the month you might've missed a billing cycle, so you used it for a month and get charged for that, and then you also get charged for the month you're about to use.

my wireless phone company does the same thing, bills me before i use it...

Minh

Both. One, then the other. I called in with the free modem promo code a month after subscribing.

Red face

I've been informed that the wierd number is five days of prorated monthly service, plus two months of service.

Silly me. I should have just done the math. What's 1/30 of $39.95?
