Wireless connection disconnecting! Help!

I'm having a problem with my Visor to wireless phone via cable setup. I have a Visor Deluxe and a StarTac 7860 and both are connected with a Gomadic cable. I connect to the internet via an ISP. It was working fine until a couple of nights ago when I installed several wireless programs on my Visor: AIM, Yahoo Messenger, Vagabond, MultiMail, and the Palm Web Clipping applications. The Web Clipping stuff didn't seem to install properly, and Vagabond didn't work either.

Anyway, my problem now is that my wireless connection now only lasts for about 5 or 6 minutes, and then it disconnects. It doesn't matter what application I'm using. I deleted all of the new programs, and rechecked the Palm Network and Modem settings. The idle timeout had switched to 1 minute, so I changed it back to "power off." However, I'm still having the same problem.

After deleting the newly installed programs, I now have Blazer, Eudora Web, Eudora Mail, and Avantgo, all of which I was using before with never a dropped connection.

I thought that it might be my ISP (Prodigy) that was having problems, but that seems too coincidental.

Does anybody have any thoughts on what my problem is?
