Re: Screen Protectors

Well, I did it! After four months of using my Visor Platinum, carefully trying to avoid making scratches on the screen I managed to put a beauty across it last night! I had, of course, planned to get screen protectors, but never did. But, so be it...What are the choices available? What are the benefits of the various options? Who sells these things? Any tips will be appreciated
STOP!! forget WriteRights, CompanionLink, and all the others. Read here about the one to get. Brando from Hong Kong has the BEST protector available and hardy anybody knows about it.
I've used all the others, and they are all the same. They are a ***** to put on if you don't want bubbles in it. If you barely touch the adhesive you'll see your finger print. They are soft and over time small dimples can be seen throughout the protector. The grayscale model protectors impair the screen visibility. And last but not least, they are pricey.
With Brando's, it's a stiffer material so it goes on easier. If a bubble appears while applying just lift and it's gone. You can touch the adhesive and not see fingerprints (as much). The stiffer material doesn't indent over time. These don't impair the visibility at all, the are pretty much clear but they do get rid of any glare. And last but not least, one $9 protector will last you 6 months.
Without a doubt these are the best protectors ever made. They are made of a "Mylar" material. Screen recon is perfect and it feels like you are writing on the glass digitizer. I liked them so much I bought 5 of them that should last me the next 2 years.
Here's the kicker.... you can take them off and wash them with water, dry it, and re-apply it! I've done it so I know it works. Two suggests if you do wash: 1) try to avoid heavy rubbing on the adhesive side. it doesn't really hurt it but it moves the adhesive around and you may get "foggy" areas when you re-apply. 2) Don't dry with a paper/cloth towel. The best way is to use a can of compress air (available at best Buy in the computer dept) and blow the excess water off before re-applying to your PLTM.
The protectors are available for the following Models:
Palm III
Palm IIIc
Palm m100/m105
Palm V/Vx
Palm m500/m505
Visor Deluxe/Platinum/Prism
Visor Edge
CLIE 300/500
CLIE 700c/710c
HandEra 330
I guarantee you'll be happier with these over any of the others out there.
