SMS on Visorphone

Ok, here is my problem. If I get an SMS message when I am away from my phone, I don't know that I got a message. It seems that when you get a message your visor beeps twice and that is it.

If you are not there to hear the beeps, you won't know you got any message till you open the SMS app and look.

Is there anyway to have the message come on when I turn my Visor on? Or maybe a different app.
