Question

Haven't seen this question posted or answered so here goes...

Does anyone know if the new Graphite Platinum is painted like the silver one is?

I doubt it. It's probably just a regular Graphite Visor case with the Platinum innards.

As Toby said, since the Platinum uses the same casing as the original Visor and Deluxe, it's most likely the standard molded graphite. I believe (but am not positive) that the original Platinum is a silver-painted graphite case.

Nope.

The Platinum's plastic is a light grey. Kinda what you see in model airplane kits. (I know this.. because most my paint has rubbed off... )

Pretty ugly.

I should have a graphite Platinum this afternoon, I will post the composition of the case.

You may also want to read the thread http://discussion.visorcentral.com/...?threadid=14178 which discusses returning a Silver Platinum for a Graphite Platinum.

I received the Graphite Platinum to replace my Silver one that the paint was rubbing off of.

It would appear that the finish is not painted on, although the surface is a rather flat black, almost like flat black paint. The front half of the case is a very flat finish, while the rear half of the case has a slightly different finish that is a bit shiny.

The case is molded in black plastic through, not grey like the silver Platinum.

I took the battery cover off and rubbed the edge of it with my fingernail and did not notice any difference in the surface appearance.
