Cool

Since I've heard/read that "supposedly" some of the earliest adopters should be getting their visors quite soon (wink, wink!), let's see how the shipping is going...

...When you get your long-awaited "Christmas present", tell us:

1) When you ordered
2) When you got it
3) The state you're in (U.S. state, not mental state )

...Just a way for a not-so-early adopter to live vicariously through others until mine gets here!

Great minds think alike Chuck! I was just about to add a similar topic.

However, I would like to ask that only those who really did recieve a Visor post it here.

We don't need people lying about getting one just to be "first"!

"We don't need people lying about getting one just to be 'first'!"

True. But how will we know whether someone is lying or not?

Easy, just ask them to provide specifics like:

actual shipping cost
information
UPS number (just kidding)
or a host of other things only a person who has one in their hot little hands can answer

or..............

we can simply rely on the people being truthful.

Uh, except if we don't have one in *our* hot little hands, how do we check their answers?

I can filch all sorts of details from Handsprings specs and various reviews. And figuring the price is cake -- just go through the online order process.

As for relying on people to be truthful <shrug> it's the net.

I'm looking forward to seeing "I got mine!" posts, but I'm not gonna take 'em seriously until I've got mine.

I ordered mine around the morning of 9/14, the day they started taking orders. I'll post a image here of me holding mine when I get it...how would that be for proof? I put my order on a Visa Checkcard so that I could watch the balance and I'll know exactly when they shipped it...by the way...I've been checking that balance hourly

I also ordered on 9/14. I just rechecked an e-mail message I received from Handspring on 9/14. They had given me the telephone number for placing an order and added: "available for order but not available to be shipped for thirty days." Not yet 30 days from the date of ordering.

Handsprung? What was the number of that Visa checkcard so that I can watch it hourly with you?

I don't think that we'll have to worry about who get's theirs first. Us West Coast people will know before the East Coast people and I'm certain that there are enough of us monitoring this site that will get theirs all on the same day.

Will there be an award for getting the first one? Then we are all out of luck because the demo units sent to the members of the press would probably disqualify all of us.

Question

I ordered on 9/14 too.

Us West Coast people will know before the East Coast people

How do you know that? Do you know where the warehouse Handspring is shipping from is? I asked on another thread and was told Louisiana. If it's in California like I hope it is I should see mine pretty quickly as I'm in Oregon.

I ordered mine about 2 hours after they stated taking orders. It took me that long to find the phone number. But I live in Oklahoma so I know there warehouse is not in the middle of the US so I guess I wont be the first

DKantola- I read a thread that stated it was near their offices in Mountain View. Also, read another one that stated that "fact". I'd also assume that as a start up company your not going to house your product in L.A. because of the lack of intelligence in that state. Between David Duke, Jimmy Swaggart and Mike Ditka well I rest my case.

How's the weather up in Salem? Used to leave in Beaverton and loved it up there.

I was also told by the now infamous CSR that the warehouse was in Silicon Valley. Course who can believe anything until it actually ships.

I'm certain I'll hear from those members who are from L.A. It's OK down there but you have to admit the comment about Duke and Swaggart. Ditka was a better player than coach and doesn't count because he was not orginally from there.

Humankind has waited 500,000 years for the arrival of the Visor - do a few month or years really make a difference?

That's a nice map, though that's not the one UPS usually uses when shipping to me.

It seems no matter where it's shipped from they stick me in the blue 7 day region, and I'm in Ohio right now. 8)

Has anyone noticed how often people submit frivolous posts just so that they can become "members"?

Cool

Strong words coming from Mr. "I can't wait that long for a Visor, so I'll buy a cheap Palm device, and then rag on everybody else who has more patience than me" HipHop...

I ordered mine on Sept. 16. I'll post when mine arrives, if I'm not busy playing with my new toy

Cool

I know nothing about frivolous posts, but I *DO* know that I am situated in the heart of Six-Day-Region, so I guess I'll look forward to reading about everybody else getting theirs first. As long as it arrives before November 10, I'll be happy.

I just called CS to fix a problem with my credit card number. The reps supervisor had to call my name up on the database. Luckily I was still there (I ordered the morning of 14 September). He said that the ship dates are now mid to late October. Back log?
