I found a web site selling the Visor, in all three of its forms. The Deluxe package sells for $239 on it. I wonder if they're doing it legitimately because I saw this over a month ago. Anyway, here's the link for the visor deluxe in particular:
joemammacomputer.com

Here is the link for the site in general and all their other products.
joemammacomputer.com

I hope I did that right. I thought you all would find that interesting.

Sounds fishy to me since I've read elsewhere that, at least as of yet, Handspring is not offering any kind of volume pricing. This being the case, how does anyone sell one for less than the advertised HS price?

Well, lots of net shopping sites offer products for below cost as a customer acquisition strategy. Look at Amazon.com -- they didn't make a profit on books until 1999.

That said, the site looks pretty fishy. If they provide the Visor at all, they probably just order it from Handspring, pay for it, and have it shipped directly to the customer.

I love needless middlemen!

That site definitely does not look one that anyone in their right mind would buy something from, especially something as expensive as a Visor.

Folks should also remember that Handspring does not refund products that weren't purchased from them directly.

the name reminds me of the 'yo momma' jokes....

I guess this is a practical joke or he/she is selling stolen goods....

either way I would stay away from it...

Can somebody contact Handspring and verify if this web site is selling Visors legally?

If somebody provides me with an email address I will contact them myself.

Done. I wrote it yesterday. But who know's when they're going to get back to me. Soon I hope.

As a matter of fact, www.handheldinterfaces.com in Canada does offer handspring products and it's a legitmate site. However, they charge $450 CAD and it's $300 US!

Shipping is promised in one week....I heard even buy.com is offering VDx as well....

Good point that we should be aware 3rd Party Vendor doesn't not offer returns....

I'd be wary of any site with a button saying "Gimme it now". Not to mention their home page looks like it was designed by a newbie. Ick. Purple background! Ewwww. Almost as bad as white backgrounds.
