System Sync Failed
Hi. Just noticed by accident in my sync log that I'm getting a failure. The message reads:
System Synchronization failed
Protocol Error: Handheld file not found. (4003)
What's it mean? Should I care? Why are we here?
Any help appreciated.
TIA

Are you by any chance syncing with the Backup or 8mb Flash module inserted? If so, remove it and try syncing again.

Or any module w/ flash memory for that matter. That would include the Thinmodem and Thinmodem+. I am sure there are others but those caused that system sync failure in my experience.

I've had this problem, too, but it doesn't seem to result from my 8mb or 16mb flash card. Rather, it is a problem when the registry for BackupBuddy is corrupted. It's resolved if I simply re-run BB (assuming you use BB--otherwise, I have no idea).

Innopak 2V
I normally have my Innopak springboard in the slot when I synch. I'll try removing it next time and see if that fixes it.
Out of curiosity, what is the system synchronization, and why would the springboard prevent it from happening?
Many thanks to all for your help.
BTW, I don't use BackupBuddy. But thank you for the suggestion.

For The Record, that appears to have been the culprit. System sync OK when I sync'd sans IP module.
Still curious, though, as to what a System sync is.
