Avantgo alternative that will....

...do a modem sync like avgo will. Looked at Plucker, ISiloX, and a couple of others, but I can't find one that will update w/o its conduit. Any ideas?

I am not sure what you mean by "modem sync", but I use plucker without a conduit.. I run the plucker "web capture" program/python script on my main desktop pc when its done, I then copy the pdb file to my memplug's smartmedia card (via my pc's card reader).. In my case plucker does exactly what I need and its free.. Only thing I didn't like about plucker was the lack of a GUI to edit the "database" files (however it wasn't that hard to actually setup a website, but a novice may find it difficult).. I did like the fact that it is written in python and could (in theory) run on any platform that supports the python script language..

Well, what I was talking about was a feature of avantgo that allows you to update your channels w/o your pc; just using my xircom springport modem and a phone line. Could the python script potentially run straight on the palm?
