It was posted in the news section that if we had an answer on how to hook up the MiniJam in your to post it here...

Aiwa has a series of car CD players (Starting at $130) that feature and Aux-In that allows you to hook up things like MP3 players or MiniDisc players to the stereo through the headphone jack. It sounds much better than casette adapters.

I own the Aiwa MP3 player (CDC-MP3) and I've hooked up my Rio64 to it before, to try it. The only bad thing is that this requires replacing your stereo, and if you have a nice one it may not be worthwhile. If you have a factory radio then I'd say this is the best option.

Hmm, for $130 that's not too bad. Any ideas for adapters for existing CD players? I don't mind a dangling cable.

If your head unit is a cassette deck you can always use a tape adapter like the ones that come with most portable CD players. If you have a CD player you're out of luck. The only way to input sound would be to tap into the pre-amp circuit of your stereo. Although it is very possible to do, it is not practical.

They used to sell small FM transmitters that would allow you to choose an unused frequency and hook up the transmitter to your MP3 player, CD player, etc. and then tune your radio to your chosen frequency. I'm not sure if you can find these anymore or what they were called, I just remember seeing them when I used to work in a retail store back in high school (5 years ago).

All I have is a CD Player. I just thought there would be a way to connect a headphone size jack to my speakers and have that jack stick out next to my CD Player. Then when I want to listen to the MiniJam I turn off the cd player and just plug the MiniJam into the jack.

My father did car stereo installations, so if there is a way then we can probably do it. Should make for a good article too.

Not sure if this would work, but you might be able to get an amplifier with AUX inputs that the MiniJam can connect to.

I have one of those FM transmitters I use with a personal CD player but the sound quality suffers a bit and they're not readily available from what I've seen.

connecting to your car...

The device LuckyChuck refers to is an FM Modulator...
I found one by Audiovox with RCA inputs which you can simply convert to a headphone style female jack with a Radio Shack cable. The part number is 1070610 @

Also, if you have an aftermarket amplifier you can use a splitter into the amp or an RCA A/B switch and convert the rca cables to a 3.5 mm headphone jack
