Unhappy My Prism is Oooogly - what to do?

ok ..my prism has had it...2 drops, one sit down special, some knocking around, a little modding, etc......now i have some serious cracks all over it, a chunk missing out of the back, stress cracks everywhere that has been mentioned before.

Now...I have an 'old' prism.....My buddy just got a "new" prism a few weeks ago, the thing looks totaly different, the paint is different, it feels more solid, and you can tell its not going to crack, the plastic is more flexible....

My first questions is this...........How the hell can a company release a model....realize the messed up bad on the materials used, then fix the problem re-release the product under the same name , for the same price....and let the owner of the "old shotty one" suffer with thier mistake?

I am wondering if I send a nice mail to handspring asking them to send me the plastic prism case only if they will? I love my prism the way it is now (case aside) I dotn want a refurb, I dotn want to have to reinstall etc...all I want is the plastic thirty cent part so I can trannsplant my existing hardware intot he new case...

my second question is this...
Do you think they will go for it?

I called Handspring about getting a new face plate when i cracked mine. Their reply was a polite but firm 'no'. I could send it in for refurbishing at $120, but they would not sell me a new face.

I would bet yours would be a similar answer.

This is sick, I mean pretty much anything you buy you can get replacement parts, how come every single replacement available is for every visor EXCEPT the prism?. And the funny thing is that the prism seems to be the only model that actually NEEDS parts.

Every single person I know, and a ton more on here that have prisms complain about the shotty quality of the paint and cheap plastic case...and now we can't even get a 50 cent part sent to us...especially after paying 300-450$ for this thing?....Mine is useless now... the case is so loose and wonky now...This is hurting.

I guess my only option is to make my own case...thats pretty sad, I hope when the hood of my car gets chipped, I would hope I could get a new hood... I don't have to make one of those too!.
