Question

I've noticed the following pattern. I have a USB cradle at home and a serial cradle at work. If I sync at work I have to do a soft reset before it will sync on the USB cradle at home. (Otherwise it has problems connecting) Has anyone else noticed this??

I also use serial sync at work (WinNT4) and USB sync at home (Win98SE). I don't have any problems such as having to do a soft reset.

Question

Do you have the syncing software set with both serial and USB checked at both locations or just the applicable one (serial clicked on the machine you sync serial and USB checked clicked on the machine you sync USB.)

I have problems with USB sync as well. At work (under NT), I have a serial cradle, and it works quite reliably. However at home where I have USB with Win98, I have to soft-reset about 30% of the time to make sync work -- in some cases two attempts in a row will result in the first one working, but not the second one.

But, *typically* I see the same pattern: after a sync at work, the USB sync gets stuck until I do a soft reset. Maddening. Nice to know that we're not alone, eh?

I have just USB checked at home, and just serial checked at work.
