I've had my VDX for around a month now, and it has been hard crashing on me with increasing frequency. By hard crash, I mean that it resets, flashes the Palm logo, and then fails to restart.
The logo disappears, but then apparently falls into a loop, and keeps flashing the logo at me. Soft reset-ing the thing does nothing to break it out of the loop, nor does removing the batteries. The only thing that it will respond to is a hard reset.

After the as time has gone by, performance after these hard resets has gotten worse. The Date Book Plus throws the following error when I click/tap on it:

DataMgr.c, line:2431, Null DB ref

and only lets me soft reset. Since I am having the same hot-sync-under-usb-doesn't-work problem that a lot of people are having, I've managed to lose around 30 addresses this way. I've given up on trying to get through to handspring tech support.

anyone out there have any ideas as to what this might be?

I have experienced this problem -- not the datebook + issue, but the looping resets -- as well as many others, and the problem is likely third-party app(s) that you have installed that conflicts with the Visor's Palm 3.1h OS. For a list of known conflicting programs see the FAQ on this site.

Hope this helps.
