hot syncing

Has any one had this problem and what can be done about it. If I take myVisor out or put it in its cradle with out shutting off the computer it will not Hot Sync anymore . Sometimes I can fix it by deleting the root hub and rebooting but the works sporadically. I have to do it 5 or 6 times and then it will inexplicably start working again. On two occasions I have been unable to get it to work and have had to buy a new USB port. I have a Dell computer. HELP

You can start by making sure any power-save features are disabled for the USB ports.
