Unhappy aaargh!! deluxe troubles

So, my trusty Deluxe Ice has decided to stop working, sort of.
The screen does not accept any input, and after pushing the hardware buttons a few times (they do work) the palm freezes, requiring a hard reset to begin again (without any luck).

Anyone heard about something similar? Any ideas to solve it?

Thanks,
Ricky

Batteries?

I may be asking an obvious question, but have you tried swapping them out?
Have you tried a warm reset?
What happens when you write on the screen?

yeah, I tried changing the batteries.
Resets: tried warm, soft, hard, you name it.
I took the cover off, checked the connection between the motherboard and the screen (seemed ok).

So, the symptoms: it doesn't do anything. It senses pressure on the upper right corner (sometimes by itself), and the hardware buttons usually work, but not always. Sometimes even the power button goes deaf. So there's no real digitizer feed, and the Visor freezes, so something is really going wrong there.
The only action it recognizes, of course, is the soft reset.

I have just left it without batteries to clean the memory and start all over again, and see if it was some software related issue, although I doubt it.

Any other ideas?

Thanks
Ricky

are you sure it coudn't have been damaged in pocket / bag / etc?

My old CASIO's digitizer got all messed up after I rested my backpack (full of books) on my thigh. There was a tiny crack in bottom right hand corner, but other than that it looked perfect.

Could be.
It's now officially dead, anyway.
Can't interact with the damn thing (although I could sync everything OK). It seems the digitizer is stuck receiving data in the upper right corner, and it goes berserk until it freezes.

Maybe I'll have to replace the digitizer... any idea on how much would it cost?
