I've had my VDX for a few weeks and I'm beginning to notice tiny little scratches on the screen. Hmmm...it's like getting a scratch on your new car... Does anyone have any tips on preventing scratching or a remedy for existing scratches? They're tiny, but I can see them... Any tips are greatly appreciated!

Buy a form of screen protection. Also try writing with less pressure. As for screen protection I recomend Write-Rights available at any best buy

I have seen people mention using a dab of Turtle Wax, in some previous posts, as a way to get rid of minor screen scratches. I haven't tried it myself, though...

I slapped a WriteRight on my Visor the day I received it, even though I had a PDA Panache. When I took off the WR after a few weeks, I found the screen so much clearer that I left the WR off. No scratches so far after 3 weeks. Hope this stays the same because the difference is remarkable.

Cool

I also practiced "safe graffiti" using a Write Right proctector as soon as I got my Visor. Did this because of reports of the cheap stylus shipped by Handspring.

I used the protector for about 3 weeks, then took it off when I got a PDA Panache stylus. Screen looks MUCH better, and no scratches after two weeks with the new stylus.

Anyone having trouble with scratched screens and stylus problems should do a search on this site. If you are knew to this discussion group, you will not believe all the information you can find from the old-timers here.

Talking

Many thanks to those that replied to my original post. I decided to go with the write-rights for now. They do a fine job of protecting, but their texture kind of blurs things out and they are quite expensive ($25 for 12)!

As for the scratches, I called Handspring and described the situation. They promptly offered to replace the unit and FedEx'ed it overnight to me! The CSR did say that they've been experiencing problems with the Deluxe Stylus (which is what I was using at the time) and said the scratches are a not uncommon problem.

As for the return/replacement process, Handspring's days of troubled customer service seem to be over. I received a new Visor, as I said, in a day! I feel as though Handspring has really pulled itself together in terms of customer service. Couple this with the Visor and its upcoming springboards and I see a company that knows what it's doing and is ready to get their product noticed. Overall, I am still very satisfied with the Visor and the customer service at Handspring.

Again, thank you for all the replies!
