I have a Deluxe that has suddenly gone mad. When I touch the screen it may respond, but I do not know how it is going to respond.
I have tried soft and hard resets. Removing the battery. Opened it up and unplugged the screen, but nothing helps.
It usually does nothing when I tap, and when it does, it may make 3,4,5 different things without tuching the screen again.
Any ideas?

Send it back
Call Handspring and get a replacement...I had some of the same problems. My new one (refurbished) is great.

And you may want to leave out the part about "I even opened it up" when you talk to them.

At first, HS offered to replace it, but their records show it was past the one year warranty period. I was impressed at how fats they first offered to replace it. We went through a couple of things, and then the gentleman said they would send me another one without me asking. That's good customer service.
Just got back from Best Buy with a new Platinum.

Mine too...
This started happening to my Deluxe about a week ago. Since my Deluxe is just under 11 months old, it is still under warantee. So I called Handspring Customer Service and they are sending a replacement. Should be here either the 3rd or 4th. I really like their policy of sending out the replacement first and paying for the return shipping on your bad unit.
Customer serivce seems to have improved. I just hope that the refurbished unit they send me works ok. I still see posts about Handspring sending refurbs out that have faults. Seems like they are not testing them very well. Keeping my fingers crossed.
