Sigh.. I was about to write rave reviews on my new Edge after using it without problems for 2 and a half weeks.
I was a bit shocked today to find that my screen (grafitti area) was cracked and the screen unusable, even though I had the cover on when my Edge was in my pocket. Strangely enough there were no dents or any bent parts in the cover to show how it could have cracked (a hard knock or something would have at least dented the cover or made a mark). So I'm guessing it was pressure, probably when I sat in the crowded train that cracked it.
I'm hoping that it can be repaired (screen isn't responsive) but the apps are working if I press the buttons (todo, memo etc.). I've heard a lot of great reviews about customer support from Handspring. If they can fix my Visor before the end of the week, hopefully at an acceptable cost, I would probably become a loyal Handpsing user. After just two weeks, it was my first PDA, and now I don't think I can do without one, now that I've used one. Sniff... I miss my Edge already.
Well anyways.. here's a lesson, that although the Edge looks solid with it's aluminium casing, you can still crack it by applying strong pressure at certain points. I'm not willing to test this theory, but it would seem the cover doesn't quite work like a strong protective shell, even though it looks like one.
