Question Newbie Question

Newbie Question,

Hi to everyone!!

Just wondering about this;

I contacted Handspring Customer Support last week to see about getting a new slip cover case for my beloved Prism cause mine is splitting from the side. I got it in less than a week, but they sent a "small" case. I called today and was told that a slip cover doesn't exist for the Prism?! I said it came with one, they said they don't know about one coming in the box!

Anybody have similar problems? I'm real new at some of this stuff, so I appreciate your patience.

Thanx

hmm. The are you talkign about the leather case, or the palstic cover. The Plastic cover is the same for all models, and for the Prism, it only fits on the top. the leather case, appears to be ALMOST identical, and it's not that hard to get a Prism into a Vdx leather case. (that one stretches a lot) I wouldn't worry. It's ok

Newbie Question

Hey Thanx for getting back to me.

I guess you're right, but I would like another one that isn't so tight on the Prism. Oh well, I was going to try to see how it would work if I attached a clip to it and carried it on my belt for a belt case.

I ordered an extra hard cover case anyway so to have one if I decide to velcro it to the inside of a palm case.

Arrow Nope

The Prism leather Case is slightly bigger than the case for the Deluxe. I would call them back and insist that they send you oen for the Prism!

Angry Newbie Question

Yes, I do plan on doing just that.

I wish I would have remembered the girl's name I talked to.

Why is there so few cases for the Prism? They just came out with a bunch for the edge!!!

I think that the Prism cases have widley been accepted by thrid party manufactors. But the edge, hasn't seen god sales , and nobody wants to make acecsories for it. So it's up to handspring to do that job, to sastify the intrests of the people who did buy the edge. It's one of the problems with early adoption. You dont always know where things will go

Newbie Question

Okay, this is the rest of the story, Paul Harvey.

I called again and now have been told they discontinued the slip case for the Prism all together. And are not supplying one in the box for the new Prism's either.

Anybody purchased a new Prism in the last few days/weeks? I'm curious what the replacement is!!

Hard to believe

I think Handspring's color unit will bolster the Visor Edge. Why? It will have the same connectors at the bottom and possibly the same connector at the back.

The Edge is nice. But it doesn't offer anything significant over the thin Palm units that were already on the market. Also, there is a chicken and edge scenario. People are afraid to buy it because there aren't any accessories on the market for it.
