case for the visor prism?

I'm looking for a case (hard or leather) for my visor prism with memplug attached. Anything out there that will comfortably hold this? Any recommendations? thanks

i have an EB Slipper Prism case from www.ebcases.com. its great! i got the belt clip one, cause thats an easy way of holding it. check it out, you wont be upset you bought one.

I had this same question a few months ago. Try searching the archives--I was interested in the EB Slipper or the Vaja case, and several folks were kind enough to post their thoughts.

I got the EB slipper, which is nice and functions well. I am not wild about the leather (the quality is nice, I would have prefered a different color)

I have a Vaja case for my Platinum, which is very nice. Attracts a lot of attention. The Vaja Prism case lets you sync with the unit in the case which is nice. Wish I could do that with my Platinum.

Prism+memplug should have no problems fitting into the case. Might be a little snug, but the leather should be flexible enough to accomodate the case.

Vaja seems to have cut down recently on their leather selection though. I don't see quite the variety in leather styles that I did when I first bought my case.

EB's Slipper Prism case with clip

Hello,

I browsed EBcases to get more details on the Prism slipper case with belt. It looks ok on the pictures. Still I'm curious about the daily experiences...The belt clip looks kind of rugged. Is it really stirdy and keeps the Prism safe in it's place when carrying it around? No accidently drops on the floor? Is it comfortable wearing? Does the Prism easy gets off and on the clip?
Besides this, the case seems perfect to me. I'm also looking for an easy solution to carry my Prism around without having a big lump in my shirt pocket....

Now they should invent a case to carry all the accessoires, e.g. charger, modules etc....

well...

the EB slipper does add bulk to the prism, you cant really tell when its in your hand though or on your belt. you can tell when you put it in your shirt pocket, it probubly wont fit. but then again, the prism is too big to put in a shirt pocket comfortably.

Thanks for the replies. Actually, after searching for reviews and opinions, I'm now deciding between the E&B slipper prism versus the vaja case.

I think I'm leaning towards getting the vaja case, but now I don't know whether the snap case or the magnetic case is better. Any suggestions?

I love the magnetic case. I find that being able to get to my visor without having to worry about snaps is great. It seems like a silly thing since snaps are not particularly troublesome, but still, it is really nice to have the magnetic closure and I can't imagine going back. I haven't had any trouble with the magnets de-magnitizing anything, although as a rule I don't keep credit cards in my case.

I just got my magnetic Vaja Prism case yesterday and I cannot imagine why I waited so long.

I carry my Prism in my pants pocket, so I wanted something slimline. The magnetic closure looked 'trimmer' than the snap, so I went for it.

Initial impressions:

- The magnets are stronger than I expected. The top literally 'snaps' into place, and you can pick the thing up by the flap and it will not open.

- The fit is a bit tight. I had to do some pushing to get it in there, but it is already moding itself wonderfully! There are two little 'ears' on the bottom corners, but they don't amount to much. There is also a bulge or ripple by the cable cutout.

- I feel very confident that this case will protect my Prism from a lot of stuff. It better. The night before it arrived, I dropped my Prism while it was naked (grr!) and cracked the front shell from the power button to the corner of the screen. With the Vaja on, it literally is acting as a bandage, holding everything wonderfuly tight!

- I removed the clear plastic part over the buttons. I just never liked it on my earlier one, and I did not like it after only a few minutes on this one.

- I can use my travel cable with no problem, and if I push it lightly, it will even sync in the cradle while in the case!

- I got the 'green grain/tan' option- man is it beautiful! Smells great (all Vajas do, apparently!), looks rugged and businesslike at once.

- They changed the grafitti aid, I think. I THOUGHT it listed the letters and aplphabet, mine now lists the punctuation and uncommon characters- which is even better!

Darn you Madkins!!

Well, I was successful in resisting a Vaja case until I got to the "smells wonderful" part of Madkins' post. Mine arrived today and the leather sure is nice.

As compared to the EB slipper, the fit is tighter, and but it really does have some "puckering" issues at the base of the unit. The EB slipper is just squared off down there, but the Vaja attempts to make allowances for the way the bottom of the Prism is shaped.

I think the EB has more padding on the back of the unit--it has a softer, more padded feel to me.

the Vaja probably looks sharper, even with those pesky puckers, b/c it doesn't have the zipper and is form-fitting to the bottom.

The magnetic closure is nice, although I never had a major problem with the EB velcro. Mine opens when picked up by the cover, but I didn't want to have to use a crowbar to get the magnets to release.

I have to hold it physically in the cradle in the Vaja to get a green charging signal, and it didn't hot sync for me at all--maybe it takes a couple of days. This is somewhat problematice b/c unlike the EB Slipper (which I just always took out of the case to charge and didn't bother with the zipper) it is hard to get the Prism in and out of the Vaja case. (Of course, that makes for a slimmer, better looking fit.)

RE COLOR:
I got the solid brown. It also comes in black; brown and green; and brown and ostrich.

I mainly wanted the VAja for the color option--I don't recall what the price of the EB Slipper was, but the Vaja Magnetic case was Fifty Bucks.

BOTTOM LINE:
EB Slipper is better deal and certainly a high-quality case. The Vaja is "sexier." If I didn't need to change PDA cases whenever I changed purses, I'd probably stick with the EB Slipper. ; )

Did you have to cut any on the slot to make it hot sync? I am tempted to try to cut the slot a little more--if it would charge/hotsync on cradle w/o having to remove case, I would be a happy, happy camper.

Also, how did you cut out Plastic?

Well, i've got a RhinoSkin alum case. It rocks. I also have the add-on beltclip. The case looks nice and smooth. Check it out.

I cut the plastic out with a new Xacto knife blade with the really pointy tip (#11). Just jab it in (while the Prism is out of the case ;-) ) and carefully cut around, trying to trim just a 'little' of the leather as you go around. Missed pieces will 'flash' at you periodically as you use the device. Just re-'shave' them as needed.

I AM thinking about cutting the bottom opening a bit more- my travel cable ALMOST fits perfectly- there is just one sliver of leather that gets caught and prevents a good connection. I am mostly worried about my ability to cut it straight, instead of turning it into a jagged mess.

To use in my main cradle, I just take it out. It is easy after the first few times and it gives a solid connection.

Prism Slipper case from EB

Just got my Prism Slipper case with clip in the mail today. Incredibly fast delivery within a week from San Diego to the Netherlands!
Apparently EB made some modifications: The plastic is gone, there's a hole for the LED and the clip is stronger and better (metal). I expected to get trouble with the hotsync, but after getting used to folding back the cover and front a bit, it worked fine. The leather doesn't feel stiff at all....

Vaja Case for Prism

Just got my Vaja Case from directcase.com today. Ordered it Monday with the free ground shipping and it was here Wednesday morning...can't beat that!

Mine is the green and tan magnetic one and it is beautiful...smells WONDERFUL...and fits perfectly except for that little pucker everyone talks about. I love the magnetic catch. I absolutely hate zippers!

After seeing the Vaja web addy on the box I went there and discovered the Prism plus Mini-Jam case! I wish directcase.com carried it becasue they are MUCH more expensive directly from Vaja...but with the 20% off till 4/28 I decided to bite the bullet and go for it. In every day use 70% of the time my Prism has the MiniJam on it and the other 30% it has the Personal Massager on it. On trips I use the Magellan but that's not as often and it looks like the MiniJam case may just stretch enough to accomodate that also!

The Graffiti does indeed contain only the "less used" punctution and characters like @ and � and �. Very helpful and won't damage my screen.

For those who are reading about the earlier versions where the clip button was glued on it is now sewn on VERY solidly.

THis is about the 6th case I've tried and the other 5 are gathering dust...this one won't!
