Question Notepad on a Prism???

Feel really silly -- posted this question under Springboard Modules. Now I'll do it right...

Isn't there supposed to be some sort of Notepad on my new Prism? After hotsynching I got two messages -- one said that it couldn't find the notepad.exe and the other said it could not find the expreprt.exe. Resynched (after reloading Adobe) and the notepad error message went away. Still get the one about a missing expreprt.exe. But there is still NO notepad function on the Prism at all! Help please....Doesn't it come with notepad?

I've sent this question to Handspring -- no reply so far.

P.S. Assuming I can get notepad running.... any suggestions on the best shareware or software that would link little diagrams (e.g., maps) to my appointments or memos? It would be nice to also upload the pictures/diagrams to the computer to print them, but that is not as critical as being able to make little pictures and link them to appointments, etc.

Thanks for any advice!

Yes, there should be a notepad, it is called Memo Pad, and is usually set up to be rapidly accessed by pressing the button with the sheet of paper with the zig-zag thingie on top (rightmost button). The on-screen icon is a circle, the same sheet of paper from the button, and a pencil, and the label reads 'Memo Pad'. It should be in the Main and All categories

The files for it are 'Memo Pad' and 'memoDB'. You cannot, as far as I can tell, erase these files from your device.

Although there are many, many notepad programs for the Palm operating system, I do not know of any that link pictures to appointments, although there are many programs that let you load JPEG's into the Visor (FireViewer, SplashPhoto, etc.). A co-worker has loaded campus maps, auditorium seating charts, etc. into his Visor.

Mapopolis offers maps you can load and use, and MapBlast and MapQuest offer driving directions you can download. AvantGo offers a bunch of stuff to load on your device.

DiddleBug and BugMe allow you to write or draw messages and set an alarm to them.

Are these the actual words in the log? If so, they refer to your PC, not your Visor. There are no ".exe" files on your Visor. What happens if you press the far right hard button on your Visor? (The one that is supposed to look like a piece of paper?) That should bring up the memo pad.

Thanks to you who replied! Totally spaced that .exe must be computer files. AND, had no idea that memo pad and note pad meant the same thing! No one around me even uses PDAs, so I'm going it alone. It's truly amazing how the simple vocabulary of the technology can trip one up. :-)

I'll call Handspring about the missing expreprt.exe module... Hope I can get through on the phone, since they obviously don't respond very fast to e-mail questions.
