Ok I have checked and read all I could on the HotSync issue. I have Win98/USB at home and Win2000/Serial at work. Everything was good until last Friday. That is the day that the serial at work died. Since then I have uninstalled/reinstalled the software at work, done a few soft resets, unpluged serial cord from computer, put my thumb in the visor cradle, rebooted computer, changed serial connection speed. Still I get nothing. The crazy thing is that at home everything works fine. Is there anyway to check and see if the serial cable is bad or anything? Please help me.

I guess I forgot to add that I am using Palm desktop at home and outlook at work but that all worked fine before this problem started

Serial cable problems

Same problem here. How does one verify that the serial cable is not the culprit? I checked my serial port on my computer and it's good. I did this with an ancient palm pilot and it HotSync'ed just fine.

I was poking around ?somewhere? and I think I read a proceedure that addresses an issue when you sync with usb and then try to use serial later. I can't for the life of me find it now ... grrrrr. Maybe I was seeing things!

Anyway I did a HARD reset on the VisorPlat and tried to sync using the serial connection only. No go.

Fixed It

Well I found out the problem, the cradle was bad. I know this because I tried a spare one that I had and everything works fine. Anyone know how I can get a replacement without having to buy one?
