Unhappy

Has anyone else been having problems with the contrast when adding software? I added HanDBase, a popular database program, and the contrast on my Visor went so low that I could barely read it. When I turned the contrast up all the way to the right, it still flickered. HanDBase support says they have no knowledge of any incompatibilities with Visor, and Visor support says simply delete the app. I had this same problem when I tried to add a game, Atom Smash, and the developer told me that there was a difference between the contrast features of Palm and Visor that caused this problem.

Exclamation

I had the same thing happen with AvantGo.

But not at first. It was about a day after I installed it, and it only happened when I turned the Palm on, with the AvantGo still the 'open' app.

But then it went away....I have no idea what I did......

Sorry....wish I could be of more help. BTW...I am using HanDBase without any problems....

I'm also seeing flickering with AvantGo, ProxiWeb, and Mapopolis.

It's driving me nuts, and I'm nearly to the point of selling all my Visor stuff (I have quite a bit) and going to Palm.

Thumbs down

I sent an e-mail to Handspring, looking for advice. This was their response:

"You can try to get a new copy's' of the Avantgo and Vindigo software. You may have downloaded bad files. We can see that, there is no problem with our software, visor and other applications.

So try reinstalling new version of that software."

They failed to notice, in my statement, that I had already reinstalled the software.

No wonder Handspring is getting hammered on the level and quality of customer service.

It can't be bad software if three different software are showing the same problems!

Thanks, Handspring - for nothing.

I would love to hear from anyone who has actually managed to solve this issue.

In the end, this did it for me.

Thanks VisorCentral!

Try downloading nostreak from Palmgear (there are two nostreak hacks, but I think this one is better: http://www.palmgear.com/software/sh...amp;prodID=3873 ). switch the settings around 'til they work well for you. For greyscale stuff like SilverScreen, I use the setting 2, with 'enable in greyscale mode" checked.
