Lightbulb

I mentioned in another post the idea of having a springboard that could function as a file storage device. It could lessen the need for diskette trading for people like me who are too hum-bugged by carrying lots of diskettes. Files could be beamed between Visor owners instead of transferred via e-mail attachment or diskette. (BTW, I'm talking about non-.prc and .pdb files, like .doc, .zip, .txt, .exe, etc., and even Linux and Mac formats.)

One limitation is apparent at the onset: for large files, hotsync and IR transfer times would be painfully slow. Yet, maybe there's an idea here worth pursuing. And maybe not. What do you folks think? For those who understand the Palm architecture, would something like this be possible? Would something like this even be useful?

Using the 8MB Flash Memory module and some software like Briefcase (http://www.handango.com/product.shtml?sectionId=0&productId=1308&catalog=1) this could be accomplished.
