A week ago, I was camping, and needed to use my visor as an alarm clock.

what happened was this;

My battery was about half drained, and I left my visor shutoff, but it was in tealpaint, a program which I have overclocked to 28mhz.

after I fell asleep, a diddlebug alrm went off, and before the visor shut back off, a battery warning came up. This seemed to have caused the visor not to shut off at all, and it stayed on all night, and my DBK+ alarm failed to go off, untill I woke up late and dismissed the low battery alarm.

What can I do about this? has anyone else had that problem? Are there hacks or shortcust that can disable those low abttery alarms?

There are utilities that allow you to alter the warning thresholds; but I don't use any of them for this purpose, so I can't help you there. I'm sure that a search for "battery" on PalmGear should net you some options. As in so many things with computer hardware, there are many risks with changing hardware settings. I'd be particularly concerned about reducing power thresholds while overclocking my processor - it would be all too easy to get an unplanned hard reset . . .

I'll pass on the rituals that I follow when using my Visor as an alarm clock: [list][*]If the wake-up is going to be for something really important and if the power is low, swap out the batteries with your spare set. Just remember to swap the batteries back in the a.m.

[*]Close the app you are working in, go to the "Unfiled" app screen (which is empty, right?), and manually power down the Visor. Closing the active app minimizes any potential interactions with the calendar, and minimizes the chance of your doing something accidentally when slapping your Visor to get an extra five minutes of sleep (this is also why I go to the Unfiled app screen). The manual power down is for peace of mind.[list]
