Installed this upgrade and now I'm getting fatal errors in Phonebook and SMS. Handspring states that it's a third party software issue, so I'm essentially going to have to remove them one at a time until I work it out.

Thanks tons, Handspring.

I had the same problem. Find my post to see what I did.

Thanks!

Thanks; I'm up and running after I deleted GSM_Library.prc from my backup directory.

Exclamation Be sure to backup shareware before updating!!!

At the risk of restating the obvious:

While the install of the update went smoothly on my Treo 180,
I noticed that some of my favorite shareware games/utils
had vanished. Examples: BigClock, SFCave, and even DopeWars (gasp!). Fortunately, I've kept my Prism alive since receiving the Treo (hey, that droid and I have been through a lot) and I just beamed the apps. back over.

My grasping-at-straws theory on this is that the aformentioned applications don't have seperate data files, thus are not caught and preserved by the HS pre-patch backup process.

As an aside: wasn't there a utility years ago called "Ripcord" or something that basically kept a complete mirror image of your Pilot? Is there a similar animal available today (especially now that their is no hardware Backup module for Treo)?

While not exactly what you're asking for, BackupBuddy is really good at keeping me from losing data.

I'll second Backup Buddy. It's a superb application which, IMHO, does everything that HotSync should do.
