Why Does It Take So Long to Cancel A HotSynch
Does anyone know what is happening while you wait 2-3 minutes for it to cancel? What's going on that I have to wait that long. Seems like an unnecessary inconvenience, but perhaps the experts can tell us.

Art -- it seems like you ask all the questions to which I know the answers!
Before the HotSync gets cancelled, it lets the current conduit finish its tasks. So if you have a long running conduit it can take a couple minutes before that one finishes. I guess cancelling in the middle of a conduit could cause data corruption problems.

I once accidentally popped my Visor out of the cradle while it was hotsyncing and it didn't corrupt - rather it just stopped dead and displayed a message that the hotsync is interrupted.
