Hi,

I read somewhere that you need a US address to order a Visor. Is that correct ??

I haven't had the opportunity to call sales yet, so I'll just try a quick post here ...

And what about international (non english) characters ?
Are they supported in the first batch of Visors ??

I'm in Canada and I ordered a Visor on Tuesday. I'm not sure about European or Asian orders.

The Call Centre is actually in Toronto, Canada.

Do Handspring accepting international order?
I'm from Malaysia and I don't have friend in USA. Can they send it by DHL??

I am almost sure they don't accept international orders, only orders to north America (Canada and US).

When I ordered mine today I had to carefully explain that I had an American shipping address (a confusion arouse when I said that I have a Brazilian billing address, I'll be in USA for six months only, no sense to ask for yet anonther credit card. The woman said North America only).

I spoke with handspring's sales hotline, and they DO NOT ship internatinally.

However if you know somebody in the US they can sent it there....

OK, I am in Hong Kong and called Handspring last night (their early morning). I got connected within seconds!

Cost is $249 + $ 6.95 shipping (for USA). How about sales tax? No information yet on that - was the reply..

Right, the call center is in Toronto.
Right, only USA orders so far (probably incl. Canada).
I have an UPS import account for 'collect sending' - but still 'no way'.

So I need to bother a USA friend. Better be a GOOD friend coz he most likely need to pay too since the credit card address and the shipping address has be the same too (usually).

But how about if the Visor is really so very good and your 'so called' friend decides to keep it!?

the billing adress and shipping adress can be different so your US-friend will not need to pay first...
However, it still a good idea to let it be sent to a GOOD friend, they may like it so much they will keep it ;-(

Right, I confirm this. I can pay with my VISA from Hong Kong and have it shipped to somebody in the US of A.

The Visors are made in Malaysia... maybe you can find out where the factory is and maybe bribe somebody to sell one to you...

It's probably not legal so I never said this ;-) But if you don't know anybody in the US it's probably the only way for you to get your hands on a Visor... sorry..

Handspring currently ships only to U.S. and Canadian addresses. You can order a Visor from anywhere in the world, but right now delivery is only available within North America.

The European launch of the Visor is set for January 2000, so it is presumed that international delivery will be available then.
