What is the difference between the to do list and the floating event?

Also, Anyone use date book 4? Is it any good? It looks confusing!

The biggest difference is where they are stored...appointment database for floating and todo database for todos. Floating events don't have a priority. There are others. Why not download the DateBK4 manual in PDF format from pimlico's website? There are several pages on using floating events, including a comparison to todos on page 52 (page number might have changed with the revised manual). Also a good comparison chart listing all of the features of the different DateBK programs including DateBK+.

The file is 950kb...large but worth the wait. Very well done manual.

I have been using DateBK4 for about a month and I like it. It is a complex program to be sure. Two of my favorite features are category management (you can select two or more categories for display), and views.

The "float" function is a GREAT tool.

I have Father's Day as an annually recurring event.

I wanted to remind myself to call my father every year so created a yearly "float" reminder to "Call Dad." We called on Sunday, but no one answered. On Monday, that had "floated" to that day as a reminder to call Dad. I was too busy though. On Tuesday, there is was again. We finally got ahold of Dad. Afterwards, I touched the circle, a check mark appeared marking it as done, and it disappeared reappearing on the original Sunday it was intended for. And as a float, it will appear on Father's Day of EVERY year.

Very hand!
