Unhappy

I posted this before and thought I had corrected but NOT! Anyone get AMX Hardware fatal error on every other hot synch? Msg shows up immediately after I press hot synch button. I reset using paperclip in the back and it's back to normal until the alternating hot synch. It must be one of my apps. Does not occur when only standard apps installed.

I have:
Handbase
HandySHop
Big Clock
Hackmaster
EVplugbase
iSILO
iSILO web
To DO plus
Trek SOunds
Z catalog
Pocket chess

I've gone through total reinstallation once and re-added apps., but can't figure out who's doing it! Crashing on every other hot synch is pretty odd, but that's what it's doing! Any suggestions or like experiences?

If you know that it's an app then it should be easy to track down. Delete half of the apps and test (hotsync twice). If the problem goes away it's in one of the removed apps. Reload half of those and test again.

I think you get the idea. Each test eliminates half of the applications as the potential culprit. You should be able to pinpoint the problem in 4 steps or less.

For what it's worth, I was getting AMX errors as well. In my case, it turned out to be incompatibilities with EVPlugBase. Since uninstalling it, I haven't had any AMX or other errors trying to HotSync.

I wonder if others have experienced the same problems with EVPlugBase?

Red face

Success!

Well I went onward as bregent1 suggested and before I saw Mark's post. It appears at this point that it was either EV Plugbase or Zarf Catalog causing my alternating hot synch AMX hardware fatal errors. I deleted both apps before synch testing so not sure which one yet. I used Zarf to delete EV but of course couldn't use it to delete Zarf itself. SO I went back to my Launcher screen and tried to drag Zarf to the hammer. Each time I tried to drag and click on delete I got a "Fatal Error" and reset. So I had to go back to the Palm icon default screen (unselect Launcher III view) and then deleted Zarf Catalog using menu and did so with no problem. All pretty weird if ya ask me, but I seem to be back in synch. Now after a beer or two I'll try reinstalling the apps I deleted.

So in summary, the first group I deleted was Hackmaster, Trek Sds, I silo and still got the alternating hot synch fatal error. Then the second group I deleted was EV and Zarf and then I was able to hot synch consistently so I THINK it's one of the latter apps.

I thought EV was pretty safe according to the many posts I have read here which seem to support it in favor of Hackmaster so I never suspected it. The hardware error msg made me think it was a cradle problem. Go figure!

Time for a brew! UGH! Thanks guys for the help. I'll have one for ya! I think I'll quit while I am ahead. - M.

Z'Catalog hasn't caused me any problems here... I'm convinced it was EVPB.

In any event, glad you're back. Just don't spill any of that brewskie on you Visor!
