Angry

Yesterday, I upgraded my PC to Windows NT WS SP-6a (with high/128-bit encryption) and now Hotsync will not work. I get the "Identifying User" message on both the Prism and PC but, every time I try it, HotSync runs at 100% CPU utilization on the PC and the Hotsync does not get any further.

I have done multiple reboots, I have done reinstalls of Palm Desktop 3.01 and 3.10 (and used their respective HotSync Managers), I have done reinstalls to sync to Outlook 2000 SR-1 and to Palm Desktop, I have removed all other conduits, but to no avail. I have searched VC, searched Handspring.com, searched Palm.com, and contacted Handspring support but can't find out anything that'll help to get this HotSync working again.

Does anyone know if Windows NT 4.0 SP-6a High Encryption is preventing HotSync from working? Is there a workaround?

Thanks

The best way to fix your problem is
completely uninstall palm desktop and delete the palm folder
than reinstall palm desktop lower your connection speed and sync

Thanks for your input. I had tried that too. I spoke to to two Handspring tech support people. The first eventually said it must be the serial cradle and shipped me a replacement (even though I was sure that it was not a cradle problem...). The second told me to delete mfc40.dll, mfc42.dll and other key DLLs in the WINNT directory and allow the Palm Desktop install to replace thme. Well, after doing this, my machine was in an unbootable state!!! I lost everything that I had!

I have since installed Windows 2000 Prof and my serial cradle is working fine. So it looks like there was an incompatibility with Hotsync and the Windows NT 4.0 SP-6 High Encrytion.
