Beaming All Items In DataBook?

I have a Visor Prism and my wife has a Visor Neo. Both the Prism and the Neo has v3.5H S/W. I wish to maintain the same information between my Desktop, my Prism, and my Neo. Because visors have different user names, I can not copy files between units in the Desktop environment. I have heard you can Beam applications between Visors, but my Prism only gives "Beam Item" as the copy option, not the desired "Beam Category." This means I must beam every appointment between the Prism and the Neo.

It seems to me that giving both Visor's the same user name would work, but everything I read from Handspring says "DON'T DO IT."

Basically, I would like my wife and my Visor to be in synch, same appointments, same phone number list, same to do items. Can this be done?

Thanks for any help.

If you and your wife upgrade to Datebk4, you will be able to beam entire datebook categories back and forth. That way, you can get her appointments and she'll get yours. They will be in separate categories, so you can choose when to view them.

You might be able to manage address book and memo pad enties with the file link feature of Hotsync. One of you will have to export to a file everyonce in a while though. I've never done it, so you might have to experiment a bit.

Or, you could have his/hers categories and realize that some duplicates will occur. My wife and I have a Friends&Family category that I maintain for both of us. On top of those, she and I both have our own that we maintain separately and don't bother to share.

ToDos can beam entire categories, so you could have one category for yours and another for your wife's data. Again, this gives you the choice to view or not to view. If you are using Datebk4, you have the option of viewing multiple categories at once (unlike the regular ToDo app).

Appointments and addresses seem like good things to share, but I would rarely bother with memos and todos. My wife and I don't need to see each other's todo list (and if we did every once in a while, I would beam her the item or category, one off).

My two cents.

Rolando,
I'll try the Datebk4 idea. Thanks for the help.
Later.
