leojbramble-- A big limitation with the built-in Mail app, IMO (which is why I use a replacement mail app :-)
The easiest way is to involve HotSync. Here's how and you have to be careful on this:
1) I'm presuming that the E-Mails got into the Mail app via HotSync with your desktop mail program (well-- duh, PZ! Maybe not! Especially if you're using TG Postman! If you did, then the rest will not apply).
On your desktop mail program, move (I said, m-o-v-e) the contents of your Inbox folder to another folder. Create a temporary mail folder if you have to. This, in effect, empties your desktop Inbox-- nothing's there.
2) Temporarily reconfigure your mail conduit HotSync action to have the "Desktop Overwrite Handheld".
3) Sync.
Since both the Palm-developed mail conduit and built-in Mail app are pretty much KISS, since there's nothing in your desktop E-Mail program's inbox, when you do the above, there will be nothing in your Mail app's inbox.
And since the built-in mail app doesn't support additional folders, it won't know about that temporary mail folder you created to save your desktop Inbox messages.
Kinda long-winded and I apologize...but I hope the above helps. To me, it's certainly better than manually tap open-delete, tap open-delete, tap open-delete.
