The module looks big. I couldn't find any specs on the dimensions. I was also trying to find out if this module draws power from the visors batteries or from its own baterries.

Not to crash the party, but the xircom module has been known about for almsot a year. It's now starting to go through beta-testing. I just hope they don't kill it off, Like they did to the 2nd most useful module you could buy.. A Ethernet module.

I think that wireless ethernet is unrealistic because of it's price in it's curent formation. I think that bluetooth (i know it's ment for diffrent things, but none the less) is a better wireless network solution.

I think that wired ethernet is more helpfull and usefull than wierless. (you people better be happy, I'm deleteing the truth in order to avoid a flame war, i just got through with the last one)

At home, it is a little impractical to pay for a 200 dollor AP and 200 for the module, when the only computer that you have to use with that net is a handheld with a 160x160 screen. as for school, I'm lucky that there are ethernet drops in all of the rooms but there is absolutly way that I'd be able to get my school to pay for the 2 or Access points that would be neccassary to have an 802.llb work. having a wire that goes to my desk or where ever I go in my house is a beareable IMHO.

wireless ethernet

well, guess I'm lucky...because my school has wireless ethernet in the quad, all classrooms, and the library! (Occidental College rocks, btw.) Plus, faculty and students looking at PDA's are being advised to get Visors. There's a definite market here for educational institutions and also the business market. Wireless ethernet in the workplace is catching on, and with the stowaway keyboard, you could even start chatting to your friends on AIM or ICQ in a meeting instead of taking notes! Think of the procrastinaation possibilities...
