When I attempt to hotsync, the hotsync manager stalls waiting to identify the user. I have tried to uninstall and re-install the software several times but still have the same problem. There is no log generated. When I press the hotsync button, I do get the hotsync manager to pop up, and I can cancel the operation if desired. I had this problem go away and everything worked fine for a day but now the problem is back. Any suggestions?

Try a soft reset of the Visor.

I've tried soft resets and Hard resets hard resets. Neither seems to work. Luckily I am able to restore my visor with a backup module before I do a hard reset, so I don't lose that data on my visor.

I have this occassionally, but I can't find a pattern to when it happens. The only thing I have found is that if it happens, I can close Outlook, try to sync again, and then it works.

I ran into this problem when I gave my old Visor to my wife and she tried to synic it with her Outlook. The solution was to:
(1) Do a hard reset (which wipes out everything on your Visor)
(2) uninstall your Hot Synic Manager on the PC. THEN REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER. (This step wipes out the stored information on your computer.)
(3) Re-install Hot Synic Manager.
(4) Synic.

I have tried to hotsync with outlook shut down.
I have tried to uninstall both hotsync manager and conduits within outlook and delete the files associated with my visor from the pc and still no luck. I have also tried to do a hard reset to the visor so that the system would think that this is an initial hotsync. I even tried to start out as a different user and still no luck.

As another step, I have installed the software on a new win2k pc and did a hard reset of the visor and I still have the problem. It seems odd that I am still able to do a hotsync on my personal pc at home.

Are you sure your cradle hasn't gone bad?
