I like you all jumped on the bandwagon. I waited on the phone for hours. I got the Visor and loved it. And now I sold it...

Why?
1)The Visor is cheaply made. The reason the price is so low is because they use cheap materials. Plastic? Give me a break. What idiot woyld make a computer of plastic.
2)I scratched up my screen...only minor scratches but still Visor should sell a nice stylus that you dont have to replace
3)It is big! (try sitting with it in the front pocket...not so comfy...
4)It is heavy. I bout a 8 MB Flash module. With it the thing weighed a ton.
5)the glare on the screen sucked
6)Most importantly, the Vx is $369. The Vx is a superior model. Small, compact, ALUMINUM, nice screen and stylus. No glare.

I sold mine on Ebay and y'all should too... Sell it before the Visor goes retail and you are stuck...

I'm glad you don't want to flame. Your initial whine however brought up some points that should be addressed.
1. Plastic - considering the abuse I have seen kids put their Gameboys through, I'm not concerned about construction materials. I've had my BVD for 2 months of everyday use in a fairly harsh environment(elementary school classroom) - I'm careful - no problems.
2. Think screen protectors. Good point about the stylus, though. I had to spend a whole $4 to get an improved stylus.
3. Big ??? If you can't sit down with a visor in your pocket, it's because your pants don't fit or you're overweight.
4.I honestly don't know what to say to someone that thinks the visor is too heavy. It's lighter than my original PalmPilot and I thought that was ridiculously light.
5. Glare can be reduced by using the screen protectors although personally I don't see the problem here either.
6. Most importantly, my Visor was $249 and is a superior product. Expandable, attractive and affordable.
Enjoy your Vx

Question

Aren't all the Palm models, with the V and Vx being the exceptions, made with plastic?

Question

I don't think the V and Vx are really aluminium - - isn't it just a coating or laminate? Even if it is a coating, it sure makes them look sharp, and it may make them more durable . . .

Question

I thought that the V/Vx was only metal on the front. Isn't the back still just plastic?

Again going back to construction materials. Plastic may break but alluminum will bend quite easily. They should've made it out of titanium Also most of the piping in your house is made out of plastics. It's called PVC and is just as strong as metals in some cases.

Yes stylus isnt that good but I just bought some writewrights and it works like a charm. Probably would have bought them even without the bad stylus.

Big? Heavy? How light do you want it? Most of the weight is the batteries and screen and you cant exactly get rid of those elements.

Glare. All screens have glare. In fact, anything that is smooth will almost always have glare.

Cost? No comparison. $100 bucks less.
