I've installed this bugger on Windows 98 and 2000 many times before with no problems.

I just downloaded the software again today, but when I go to hotsync it DOES hotsync, but Windows 2000 can't fully install the stupid thing. Says it can't find the file (What damn file???) and the "wizard" makes me close it.

In the program files/palm/drivers/ directory I have visorusb.sys, inf, and dll as well as visorins.exe and visorcln.exe

Am I missing anything? If I try to manually install the .inf file it messes up. If someone could tell me if I'm missing a file or mail me your .inf files I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I don't know if I've reinstalled it or not. I can't stand installshield software. Maybe I'll crack it myself

But I have a fast connection, so d'ling again is no big deal really.

BTW, I never did get those CDs

Unhappy I have the Exact same problem...

I've had the exact same problem.

Here's the low down of what i've been able to find. Go into the win2k add/remove hardware -> uninstall -> show all devices. Now i don't know about you, but the visor MAY or MAYNOT be there depending. However, there is always an "unknown" item with a ? as an icon. If i try to remove that, then all sorts of bad things happen (usb mouse dissapears, then on next bootup win2k re-detects and re-installs abou 90% of the hardware). My conclusion is that one of the drivers for a part of my motherboard (PCI USB Bridge i think) in my Win2k setup has gotten mangled.

If you re-install, and then install the visor stuff on a clean install, i've gotten it to work. In fact, it was working flawlessly for a couple of months before it stopped working this time.

I've tried everything i can thing of. I've cleaned out the registry and the \winnt\ directory of all things handspring, i've re-installed the visor driver every way i know how, and now i'm about to call handspring.

If you get any leads please let me know.

PS none of my other USB devices are affected.
