Question

Anyone notice some 'play' or movement (slight though it is) when tapping at the very top of the screen? More evident on the right side top.

If you angle the device away from you as you do this it's more evident. Doesn't exibit this in any of the other areas around the perimeter.

I'd be curious to know if others have seen this and what, if any, fixes have been done.

Thanks

I just checked mine, and if you're referring to the <1mm flex at the top of the screen, I wouldn't worry about it too much. To get ANY noticeable movement, I had to push about 3 times as hard as I normally do while I'm using it (that's about twice as hard as I am comfortable pushing).

Knowing what I do about LCDs its nothing to worry about.

I can definitely see the upper-right corner of my screen is not attached to the casing like the rest of the screen -- it angles 'in' to the unit slightly.

Question

I have the same issue and have an e-mail in to Handspring about it.

I'm fairly sure it's not an issue in terms of practical functionality, but my concern is whether it's an indication of sloppy workmanship... I see people on this board talk about having had 2 or 3 (or more) units already! What's up with that? It's a great device, but if it conks out on me after less than 5 years of normal use, I'm done with Handspring.

My old six year old Sharp Wizard has been banged around mercilessly, and except for one time when the display got brutally smashed in a NY City subway crunch and had to be replaced, it's held up extremely well...

Question

I have the moving screen problem the second time already ...
I did not throw my Visor around or drop it, so it's pretty much a mystery to me how the screen came loose. I am a little bit disappointed though, as I had several problems with my Visor and had to get several replacements. But maybe it's just bad luck for me (or I am too demading when it comes to product quality ).

Anyway, another replacement is on the way...

Hope I have better luck this time.

Later,

mc9
