HotSync problems seem to be...well, hot, today, so I thought I'd add one of my own.
I've been using a replacement Visor DX for a few weeks now. Never had this particular problem with the original Visor. When I HotSync at work (serial with Windows NT), my sync gets almost all the way finished and then just stops. I get a message saying that communication between Visor and computer was interrupted. HotSync Manager crashes, and I have to reboot my computer to get it working again. The HotSync log on the computer says everything is fine. The HotSync log on Visor says HotSync was interrupted, try again. Mind you, this didn't happen all the time at first, but over the course of a week and a half it got to the point where it happened all the time.
I have found a workaround. If I split my HotSync into two sessions (Outlook and Quicksheet one time, Avantgo the next time), both sessions go fine. Is it possible that my Visor gets impatient? ;-)
I even had one weird experience with syncing at home (Win98 with USB). The Visor locked up right as the HotSync started. I canceled the sync, took Visor out of the cradle and tried a soft reset, but the Visor spontaneously hard reset! Except for the time and date, which stayed current. Weird!(Thank you, Backup Module!)
Again, I never had this problem with the original Visor, just the replacement.
