Talking Soundsgood ruminations (mostly the latter)

My 1000th post.

wow..

I hereby devote it to:

the soundsgood module. I just got it today, it kicks... Now that I'm riding the bus every day, I can't imagine how much happier I'm going to find myself...

Now, if I could just get my refurb prism in the mail, all will be right in my visor world (once I restore my lost datebook info, that is....)

Ok, back to the soundsgood: High, HIGH wow factor. I know the clie has it natively and all, but there's something to be said for clicking that little baby into the slot and hitting the play button. Yes, to combine all them neato springboard functionalities you have to carry a bunch around, but it is all made up for the perfect moment when someone catches you using your eyemodule, you pull it out, slip in the soundsgood, and blithely ignore them to the pleasant sounds of Underworld.

Just Perfect.

...and on that other, 1000th post, note, thanks to everybody for making this my hands-down favorite discussion group.

Congrats. I bow before your magnificence.

I second your thoughts on the SoundsGood. One recommendation - buy the energy clip. It let's you take the module places you wouldn't take your visor, like the gym, jogging, etc. Leaves the springboard slot open for something else as well.

Question

dietrichbohn, how did you get a SoundsGood? They are discontinued. So are all the other third party MP3 player modules. I'd like to know how Handspring can even continue to advertise its Visor as an MP3 player now that all the module makers have gone belly up!

Huh. Maybe I'm just imagining that Palmgear is selling and supporting the SoundsGood. Also, apparently the MiniJam in the back of my Prism right now (that I bought last week) is just a hologram.

If you go to Palmgear, the Soundsgood does not show up in their list, but if you link from www.good.com you can get to it.

I bought a used soundsgood on the cheap.

But last I knew of, the MiniJam was still available in retail.

The good.com site is no longer active and the springboard is no longer listed on the HandSpring website.

Does anyone have the MusicMatch Jukebox shareware program with the Sounds Good plug in that they could email me or is it available for download somewhere else?

SoundsGONE!!

Yep, www.Good.com is gone. I can't find any links to the soundsgood module anywhere on www.palmgear.com . It's as though it doesn't exist! I know that Good.com was looking to get into other markets (apparently the module wasn't the moneymaker they hoped it would be), but they just up and died!

Too bad, too. Their web design was top notch, the most professional springboard site I've seen. Their module KICKS, and now, it's all over????

eek. I'm glad I got mine.

Update: Man, I love my google Toolbar!. I found the link at palmgear. Maybe they have some in stock, still. Here you go

Smile

I ordered my Soundsgood from Amazon last Friday, got it today. No problem getting it installed and moving music to my Visor. I'm really impressed with how easy it is to move music from the desktop to the Visor. I have an Archos jukebox also and the Soundsgood package is much easier to work with, no need to create and transfer separate playlists. Great sound and easy interface on the Visor. The only gripe I have is that the earbuds are uncomfortable to me. The good.com website is alive but states that it's in a stealth mode. I tried to register my software but I got the "this page is not available" message.

Hey, you're welcome. You could've given me a little plug ... that I sold it to you for cheap.

Anyway, I'm glad that you're enjoying it. BTW, did you listen/like the music that I forgot to delete from the SG?

yes, actually! it was cool.. I couldn't figure out how to transfer it to the desktop, in the end, so I've lost it.

Dang, man, I love this thing!

Three cheers to namja, hip-hip hooray!
