Matchbook blues

Did anyone bother to buy from Matchbook after their announcement? Bottom line, I had been contemplating that purchase for a while and their announcement prompted me to place an order. Well... I received an email giving me the email address to check the status of my order which had been processed (credit card of course). That was the 9th. I haven't heard anything since. I sent an email which no one replied to. Did anybody have the same experience?

I ordered yesterday. So far, so good...

Matchbookdrive has been rock steady in my experience. Send another email. And cut them some slack, they are folding, after all, and I can't imagine that's anything but hard.

I ordered 2 on the 9th as well, but didn't receive the email that you did. I hope I got my order in in time....

You are right of course

Thanks Dietrichbohn. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes, I will cut them some slack.

I swapped my MatchBook CF Adapter for the SplashPlus just before the liquidation announcement. I got the SplashPlus and sent back in my original MB CF Adapter. MatchBook's service has been very good so please be patient.

I got both a receipt and an order confirmation from them.

I got the receipt, the order confirmation, but so far no product. I agree that patience is required. They may have gotten more orders than they could handle expeditiously.

Patience is a virtue....

I received the two adapters I ordered the day I read of the liquidation yesterday. I just have absolutely no idea what I'm supposed to use them for! Eight bucks was just too good a deal to pass up!

I ordered a matchbook product on 8/9 and received confirmation... but no product as yet. So I e-mailed them and have just received the following reply:

Date: 8/17/2001 1:22:21 PM Central Daylight Time
From: [email protected] (Keith Hudson)

Mel:

My apologies for the lack of communication. I was out
of town last weekend. I will be getting orders out
tomorrow. I am waiting for 200 adapters from my
supplier, which I had been told 2 weeks ago were
completed and ready to ship to me. However, I was
advised this week that they were in fact in varying
stages of completion, and I was promised they would be
shipped today. I have been trying to contact my
supplier today to get confirmation that they will
arrive tomorrow.

I hope this helps.

Keith Hudson

So hopefully it won't be too long now.

I also ordered some products and got the confirmation and receipt. I haven't as yet received the product so I sent them an email this evening.

If I remember correctly, I read on their web site that they are a family business and as such, they only fill/ship orders on the weekends. With that in mind, I'm willing to wait and see what happens. I'll post any reply I get to my email.

Smile

Wow. I too received a very nice email explaining the situation with matchbook. Of course I am embarrassed at my impatience and I again thank people for being kind in their suggestions that I be more patient If the product turns out as good as their customer service, I will be thrilled.

I ordered a long adapter on the 10th, and it arrived fine this afternoon. The only disappointment was that it didn't include FAFileMover / FAUtil software like the site says, and I never got an e-mail about registration of the software, so I'm supposing that closeouts don't have it included. Not a huge deal, but it would have been nice.

I ordered the long adaptor after the liquidation sale started, and a few days later I got an email with a password to download the software. You should probably give it a little bit longer before giving up.

FYI.. I received my adapter today. I ordered my 64 MB CF card on Friday from newegg.com so I should get that this week. I also received my email a few days ago with my password to download.

Just give it time. You'll get your order.

Got the CF - now the MD100

I initially ordered 2 Flush adapters, then realized I needed some CF, so I bought 2 of the 64MB CF's from Matchbook.

I got the CF yesterday, but have not seen the Springboards yet. Buzzed over to the site to see what was up and saw the following:

Unfortunately, I ended up in the hospital today (Saturday, August 18) with a kidney stone, so I was not able to send out all my orders today as planned. I will be marshalling some extra help from family to get orders out as quickly as possible. I am hoping to have all my current orders shipped by Tuesday or Wednesday coming. I apologize for any inconvenience.
Since I actually placed 2 separate orders, I assume that one got shipped and the other did not.

Get well Keith!
