Redo the Buy/Sell forum

NO MEANS YOU WANT THE CHANGES.. (screwed up in the question)

Ok, I've complained before, and before, and before, and this ad thing is buggiong the **** out of me.. so I have been thinking of a soloution.. I sometimes like seeing these "annoucements" as they often are, so why not make a marketplace foroum, or rename the buy/sell foroum to marketplace, and let these small visor related companies post somethign every once in a while. We would have the mods modding it, to make sure trolls aren't abounding, and it would allow small companies to get exposure, and give VC'ers links to new things? crappy idea, or not?

I agree completely, there are many very small companies that make stuff for palms/visors that may not have much to spend on promotion/ads. Some aftermarket visor products I would not even be aware of without these companies posting or "advertising" about them in the forums. For example the post about the visor replacement cases; I would have never known about that site without that post. Thats my argument for miradu2000's idea - which is a very good one.

I think the comapnies posting those annoying ads would continue to post in the wrong forums because more people read posts in those forums. Moderators would have to delete their posts from all forums except the "marketplace" forum (not just put "moved" and provide a link). Still, great idea.

I'm not sure what exactly should be done, but I don't think you're off base Michael. At least offering them a place to post would be a decent start.
