I'd guess the event will take place somewhere between 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM west coast time.

This is main reason I stay away from Macs. If my video card dies, I can run right up to Best Buy, etc and purchase a cheapy until the failed card is repaired or replaced.
At least I am up and running.

Well, to be fair, I could have done the same thing had I not owned a Cube. For whatever reason, Apple insists that all Cubes and Powerbooks can only be repaired by Apple, themselves.

This is just ridiculous.

Anyways, had I owned a G4 or iMac, I COULD have just ran up to CompUSA (or another authorized Apple service center) and just had the card swapped.

The G4 Powerbook has been out for a few months now. Very nice design, but they should have included a device bay. If I remember correctly, James already has one. I think what everyone is talking about is the expected announcement of a new iBook, which is Apple's iMac of the notebook line.

Apple press event begins at 10 AM PT at Apple's Town Hall in Cupertino. Damn, did I call that right, or what?

Not to rain on your parade, but it doesn't take a sleuth to figure out Apple always holds their events between 9 - 11AM.
