Application won't install
Here I go again ... I had trouble installing Eudora on my Visor (it crashed everything and I lost my address book and the back up), but I installed the latest version of Palm from Handspring on my Mac and everything works better now.
SO - I tried to install Eudora again. I put both the Eudora mail app and the SSL app (both .prc) in the install dialog box (double clicking rather than dragging). Won't install.
Conduit enabled.
Detailed HotSync log says "install OK" but nothing about installation happening
No memory error messages in log
No error messages at all in log - everything "OK"
I have to use Eudora because It's the only Palm mail application that will work with the required authentication for my email, and I'm going on trip in 2 weeks.
BTW - Eudora help is non-existent with this because it's free.
Ideas?

If you're running any hacks, try a warm reset (hold the UP button while resetting) to disable them and then hotsync. For some reason, I've had apps that fail to install with hacks enabled (most notably AvantGo).

I discovered THIS install problem - I doubled the preferred memory in the conduit manager and Eudora "installed" halfway ("Eudora" under a blank space with no icon - no error messages in log), and promptly crashed my Handspring AND my Mac. Many hours later, after doing yet another hard reset because Eudora wasn't listed on the delete menu, I got it off my systems. I even had to reinstall my desktop Eudora after it crashed my Mac twice.
The Thinmodem is really cool - too bad I can't use it!

I feel your pain
I've had numerous apps not install and I believe the reason in most cases was either not enough extra memory for the install, the fact that I was updating an app that was assigned to a button, or basic timeout in the conduit manager.
In every case the app installed after I did a warm reset (RESET plus up scroll button) and/or made room in memory.

That would be an indication of a conflict with a hack.

You would think so but I've been hack free for more than a year now. Warm reset also disable libraries such as IrDA so I assumed that there was another preference setting that was disabled and allowed me to install an applicaton. One of the apps that has caused problems during installation is ActionNames. The last couple upgrades wouldn't install unless I did a warm reset.
