Question

Hello,

Is it safe to delete the default Mail program that came with the VPL? What other default programs can be deleted safely as well? Thank you in advance.

Almost all (all except the Graffiti tutorial program) default Visor programs are burned into the ROM, and as such can not be deleted.

Oddly enough, even if you delete it, the Graffiti program reappears after a hard reset. It must be burned into ROM but install itself into RAM?

And I too would like the option, if not to delete the default programs, at least an preferences setting somewhere, "Do not show icons for:..."

Just want to keep my categories tidy, and I never use certain pre-installed programs (Welcome, Graffiti, DateBook (as opposed to DateBook+), MemoPad (I use WordSmith), etc...)

I solved this one by simply categorizing everything I do use and dumping everything I don't use into the unfiled category. I think I have about 8 categories to keep my life a little more organized (like that will ever really happen...but I keep trying)

Yeah, I thought about that... except I use unfiled as a dumping ground for everything I put on and haven't figured out if I like yet. (a lot of stuff.)

I don't even look at the "Main" category. Everything in their that I would want to use is assigned to a Hardware button. I categorize most apps I download in "Office" - for productivity software, "Online" - for internet software, & "Utilities" - for tools & such. There is a Hack out there called HideIcon, or something like that, but it interfered with AvantGo (Perhaps because I hid MobileLink), do a search on the popular Palm app sites.
