Red face

Will I have to pay a 50 dollar repair fee for a bad pixel on the Prism? I have owned it for around a month and a hlaf and it just appeared today. The unit has other problems as well - the on button doesn't work very well (it takes a sideways pressure to turn on) and the paint is coming off. Would it be possible for me to negotiate a refund?

You can ask them for replacement.

Lightbulb Just called

I just called them up and I am having a new unit sent to me in 3 days. I realize that this could very well be a refurbrished unit but I am willing to take the risk. To tell yah the truth I might even sell it on ebay to buy the new M505...small, metal, and color..its even got an expansion slot. I like the prism and springboard and all and have always been loyal to the company but I am constantly plagued with problems and I am particularly displeased with the prism...especially the whole paint wearing off thing. I figure that the M505 is metal so its much more durable, and besides, I can fit it in my pocket as well...

Unhappy M505 delivery

According to messages on comp.sys.palm, there are currently quoting the end of May for delivery of M505's order in the last couple of days. You might want to hold on to the Prism a little longer.

Question

I received the new unit today in the mail and was surprised with two things: One, it only took them one night to send it to me, and two, its NOT NEW! I immediately noticed that the screen was noticeably darker even at it's brightest in comparison to my other unit. I also noticed that the top half of the case over hanged the bottom half to much for me to be comfortable with. I called them 10 minutes after the package arrived. I basically told the rep that I love the company and the punctuality of the delivery but that I would rather hold on to the one I have for now so as not to risk getting another bad unit. She said that's fine with her, so I packed it up and just sent it back. I guess I will have to get used to the awkward power button and the bad pixel (that seems to move every day - any ideas why?).

Post moving pixel

I got a pixel problem in the first prism I bought. But it is normal to have that in units like the prism. But moving pixel is unheard of till now for me. It's not from the screen. It's probably from the hardware running the screen. You could have open it up and replace the shell of the prisms.
