Connecting VP to ISP

Alright I got the data service activated a couple days ago....It was my understanding that I connected to my ISP the same way I would when I use my Springport56k modem....same settings and everyhting ...am I right?

I have set up a few more connections with different options set and they don't seem to work either..

Can someone please help me get connected? I am not sure I have the right settings in the Network and Connection Prefs.

If anyone is using the visorphone and data in the toronto area and is dialing into sympatico could you lend a hand? thats the same set up i am trying to make so any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone else who connects to thier isp with the visor phone and data service your help would be greatly appreciated as well...for I find myslef wanting to throw this thing across the room more and more every minute...and.. well.... I love my visor

i was able to use my VP to hookup with our office network once. I used the included Blazer software to surf a page or two. didn't experience a prob back then.

but haven't tried it recently 'coz cell charges here (Asia) are prohibitive for me at this time.

most settings were automatically set for me. if i remember right they were all auto-detected much like your modem PC.

sorry, i couldn't be of more help. just wanted to give you some hope that it does work.

I have mine set using the "Standard Modem" connection. I didn't have to change any of the network settings in order to get my VP hooked up with my VisorPhone. I have services through VoiceStream and didn't have to activate the "data" service; I guess it was already on my account.

Who is your cellular provider? What type of errors are you getting?

Brian
